Gruntydactyls are flying enemies found all over Spiral Mountain and the Isle o' Hags.

Along with Uggers, they were left behind by Gruntilda and her wicked sisters Mingella and Blobbelda to try to stop Banjo and Kazooie in their adventures. These baddies appear to be flying dragons that patrol the areas in the sky. Oddly enough, at Cliff Top, there appears to be a lonely Gruntydactyl under the cliff.

A flying creature similar to the Gruntydactyl, called Soarasaurus, can be found in Terrydactyland.
